Born in Sydney, NSW, Sean spent the early part of his career heavily involved in the sports industry in Cairns and Sydney before working for AFL Cape York. Education is close to Sean’s heart, and in 2011 he completed a Bachelor of Sports Coaching & Administration at the Australian College of Physical Education 2011, followed by a passion for serving his community; he obtained a Certificate IV in Community Services at Boarding Training Australia in 2018.

Sean then commenced his career in 2017 with AFL Cape York as the Game and Development Manager of AFL Cape York, facilitating Sport & Recreation Programs in the Cape, Torres Strait & Gulf Regions. Sean then moved into the role as the Boarding Manager of AFL Cape York Hose – for Girls since its opening in January 2019. With a passion for allowing Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders to be who they want to be and create a bright and prosperous career. As a passionate family man, Sean has helped create AFL Cape York Hose – for Girls to be as family orientated as possible, focusing on bringing pride, dedication, and independence to the girls, allowing them to grow and learn.

Sean lives on-site at the AFL Cape York Hose – for Girls with his wife and three young children. Countless memories and deep friendships have been created from living and working alongside the 50 girls. The students have become role models and share their culture with Sean’s family, and Sean has become a trusted positive male role model for the girls. After completing a Diploma of Youth Work at Boarding Training Australia in 2020 and a Diploma of Counselling at Evolve College in 2022, Sean’s ultimate goal is to help prepare young people today to live a better tomorrow.
