HAFH is a 16-Page ILLUSTRATED STORY, aimed for Young Girls (and their families), to ‘ready’ them for TRANSITION in Boarding/Education, away from Country & Family. The Book aims to support knowledge and understanding; in what to expect when moving away to Boarding School. It has a strong focus on emphasising the process of: Selecting, Transitioning and Settling into a Home-Away-From-Home Environment
HAFH aims to create conversations, focused around the KEY TRANSITION THEMES a Young Person encounters when starting High School (Y7-12), away from ‘Home/Country’. We look at; and raise awareness in: Selecting School, Departing Community, Settling-In to Boarding, School Attendance, Peer Relationships, Positive Life Experiences, Sharing Success and Achieving Success. This section also discuss FAQ about Boarding School.
Foundation Purpose: to build positive futures for young Indigenous Australia’s within the coordinated programs of: Education, Welling, Careers, Transition, Residential Care
and Outreach Programs, including AFL Pathways. AFLCYHF is motivated to create opportunities, build capacity and deliver positive outcomes to young people to have a reward life and contribute to their own community and the broader Australian Community.
